Key Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Pipeline Oversight: Coordinate the rollout, testing, and deployment of software using continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Sprint & Release Planning: Manage timelines for infrastructure upgrades, cloud migrations, and product feature releases.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Remove bottlenecks between developer teams, system administrators, and quality assurance (QA) testers.
- Resource & Cost Optimization: Monitor cloud spending and allocate tools or team members efficiently across infrastructure projects.
- Incident & Risk Management: Lead post-mortem reviews for server outages or deployment failures to establish permanent system fixe
Requirements
Key Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. [1]
- Experience: 3+ years managing tech teams, ideally inside an Agile or Scrum software environment. [1]
- Methodologies: Strong mastery of Agile, Kanban, and modern DevOps practices (DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code). [1, 2]
- Technical Literacy: While not writing code daily, they must understand cloud platforms like AWS or Azure, container tools like Docker and Kubernetes, and automation engines like Jenkins or Terraform. [1, 2]
- Key Metrics tracked: Tracking and improving DORA metrics (Deployment Frequency, Lead Time for Changes, Mean Time to Recovery, and Change Failure Rate).
